About the show
The story
On three rocks off the coast of Capri lives the world’s only colony of blue lizards, and Hugo, their restless little inventor, dreams of reaching the glittering island he can see but never touch.
The catch: he’s too rare, and too needed, to ever be let go. So he keeps building flying machines out of seaside junk and launching them off the cliff anyway.
And it’s all real.
The blue lizard actually exists, it lives on those exact rocks off Capri and nowhere else on Earth. The rocks themselves are Greek myth: a Cyclops hurled them at Odysseus. Hugo comes pre-loaded with legend, and wears it lightly.
What makes it special
Hugo is a comedy about longing. Every episode is two worlds, a hidden lizard colony and the human town across the water, living the same story without ever knowing the other is there.
Only the audience sees both: young viewers delight in the near-misses and the chaos; grown-ups feel the ache underneath.

A restless little inventor who builds flying machines, submarines and gadgets out of washed-up junk, all to reach the island he can see but can never touch. Big dreams, bigger chaos, and a heart that always means well. The catch? He’s far too rare, and far too needed, to ever be let go.
